Summer afternoon with light rain and distant rumbling thunder. Some birds chirping. Germany near frankfurt @ the open window of my room - with view to a garden area with many trees. The rain can be heard on the close-by metal rain gutter. Some low background noise of cars. Recorded with an zoom h4n mics on 90°.

Very atmospheric recording of rain and thunder. You can hear some birds and even church bells in the background and some human noises if you listen carefully.

Electric storms are not very common in sevilla, so after a couple of days of intense activity, i recorded some thunders from my window :). Gear: zoom h6n built-in micsedit: wavelab (just fades).

Recorded using zoom r 16's inbuilt mics, also added a littie bit of reverb to give it a ambient feel.

This clip was recorded during a big thunderstorm. You will hear a long powerful thunder and heavy rain. I used my zoom h1n (96khz/24bit). The sound was no post processed.

Thunderstorm came to pécel and budapest on 17th of august 2015 to pécel, hungary.

Thunder strike for the master degree in video games of university of málaga (uma). There is a rainy ambience filtered with a hpf before the thunder sound. For the thunder there are 3 parts: a metallic whoosh, the impact and a shock wave.

17th august 2021 thunderstorm in pécel, hungary recorded by sony icd-ux512 stereo dictaphone.

Caught a heavy downpour while at home and figured i'd capture it for posterity. The recording features rumbling thunder, an ambulance in the distance and a piston airplane flying over. The storm gradually drops in intensity.

Spring thunderstorms with moderate rain recorded in countryside. Some cars will occasionally pass.

I recorded this standing outside our side door. You can hear a long, low rumble of distant thunder.

This sounds as if it were staged by hollywood, but it actually did happen, i swear! birds chirp away to set the scene, but a beefy thunder roll intrudes. Soon after, raindrops begin to fall as if on cue. Theres a little handling noise click in the begining that is easy to crop out if you like. The recording is unedited. At 1:35 i move the mics closer to the deck so you can hear the splashing. At about at 3:10 i you’ll hear a different timbre as i move away from the rain and under an awning. About 3:45 the rain settles down and the birds start chirping again. Hopefully there are some useful segments in here. Recorded with a dead cat on a tascam dr-05 at 48khz 24 bit, then compressed with “lame --preset insane --scale 10” to make up for the low gain i used (i was afraid a thunderclap would engage the limiter). It's a recording of a walkman playing a compact cassete (shut in a drawer for acoustic isolation). It's there, just really quiet. The recording is raw (unprocessed). You can hear the motor working as the tape plays, and then it buzzing as the tape finished. Recorded with zoom h2. Edited and normalized with audacity.

A rubber nut shaker "roll" recorded for about 7 secnods on a fairly cheap mic, noise removed, and amplified to max volume without distortion.

I put a toothbrush inside if a toilet roll and spun the roll on the tooth brush. This was recorded at the open window institute sound booth in centurion, south africa.
